A few other socialists and communists have led successful revolutions. Che and Fidel were quite successful in Cuba, where they went on to assassinate everyone who was even related to someone who stood against them. Hitler rallied the poor against the evil capitalist Jews. Lenin? Pol Pot? Mau? Great world leaders who started their careers promoting socialism and communism and ended up authoritarian dictators.

You cannot give up capitalism without giving up democracy. Whether you vote for socialism, or fight for socialism, you get military rule in the end, because without individual freedom (economic AND political), there can never be collective freedom.

Excuse me, but does anyone have a couple shiploads of tea they can spare?

For those not into figuring out what that means, exactly - perhaps you can find yourself a copy of "Revolution Calling" as performed by Queensryche a decade and a half or so ago.

Play. Listen. Repeat as necessary.

Thanks for your comment. You’re right, it may be too late to turn the tide.

very well written and dead on accurate. im amazed as i watch the fervor of the masses over this or that candidate. both parties have far too much power in our country, and they have both been on a very slippery slope for far too long.

both parties are full of representatives who are only concerned about power, leisure, and their own personal comfort, regardless of the long-term ramifications. they are agenda-driven and prey on the ignorance of the majority of the American public. and for those who are wise enough to understand what is happening, the parties rely on our complacency and indifference.

yes, global warming is a huge scam, fueled by a much deeper agenda. and that agenda is the bigger issue. by the time most Americans are hit where it matters to them most -- their personal levels of comfort -- and start to wake up to the truth, it may be much too late to turn the tide.
